Episode 03: Luis Valladares: Vision
Luis Valladares is a stuntman and filmmaker of Latin American heritage; Puerto Rican and Salvadoran. Despite his parents’ divorce, both families taught him the value of hard work and always being there for one another. Luis began martial arts tricking at age 15, training 5 hours a day and this started his journey into performing and physical storytelling. A year later his stepfather took him onto his first film set and the spark was lit. Luis performed for “Cirque Dreams” at the age of 18, and subsequently toured and performed corporate gigs for three years. Feeling the need to follow in the family business, he went to school to become an auto mechanic but his heart revealed this wasn’t to be his destiny. Luis became a stunt performer in live shows at Walt Disney World and Universal, which proved to be an excellent training ground for his next major leap; moving to the “Hollywood of the East”, Atlanta, GA. In 2019, he and several of his friends who shared the same goals gathered together in a ‘stunt house’ where he focused his energy towards learning skills needed in the industry, by creating his own short films. These projects caught the eye of stunt coordinators and launched his career as a stuntman in film and television. Luis has appeared in such productions as “The Tomorrow War”, “Day Shift”, and “Black Adam”; with aspirations of becoming a fight coordinator for major motion pictures.
