Episode 02: Heather Gillette: Persistence

 

Heather Gillette is an 5* International Eventing competitor & USEF Licensed Eventing Official, who owns and runs Heron’s Landing Eventing in Lebanon, NJ and Ocala, Fl.  Currently competing at the 4* level with Vincent Chase, an off the track thoroughbred that she started when he retired from his racing career.  Co-Chairperson of the USEA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.  Founder and director of Strides for Equality Equestrians, a first of its kind non-profit working with national Equestrian Associations to bring awareness of diversity issues within the sport, improve access to the horse sports for BIPOC individuals, and grow Allyship among association members.  She is married to Eric Nichols and they have 4 grandchildren with another on the way.
